Well the summer was short lived, Independents day being held on the hottest day of the year certainly made the aircon struggle in one of the exhibition rooms, we won’t be using that room again!

Planning for ID10, our fifth anniversary seminar, is already underway and although it is early days yet so a detailed programme can’t be unveiled. I can give you an idea of where the seminar will take us this year though and I hope you wil find the theme more relevant than ever in these continuingly trying times.

This year we will be looking at where your patients come from, acquiring and retaining patients being fundamental to the success of any business. We will be drawing on expertise from big multi national business and I hope you will find the line up of speakers fresh, innovative and above all helpful to your business.

2010 is the start of the next CET cycle so we will be arranging some parallel CET programmes as well as the more overtly commercial. Next years ID will be more interactive and so you will need to keep on your toes to make the most of it. The exhibition will return with many exhibitors already booking their place for next year.

One of the big things about ID is the opportunity to talk to like-minded professionals with the same challenges as yourself. The opportunity to network and understand how others operate is an important part of the day we would like to expand to help you keep in contact with other independents with others looking in we will be launching a new forum for Independent Opticians only. We hope this resource will help you band its success is of course down you the independent optician.
